Xtranormal creates animated videos by using simple drag and drop utilities and typing. There is no need for any expertise in animation or programming.

The application allows users to choose characters, voices, soundtracks, and scenes/backgrounds. Several options are available for background noise and soundtracks in Text-to-Movie. The app is all run online and is simple and intuitive. STATE is a downloadable package with limited options compared to the online version. There is only one Showpak (preset scene) in STATE, one set, and two actors. The complete actor set and locations can be purchased for $9.99 or each additional character for $0.99. STATE is not as intuitive as Text-to-Movie, nor does it have as many options.
A username, email address, and password are necessary to register. The site also provides a Facebook connect, but users must still create an account. Email activation is required.
Basic Showpaks are free. Some actors, sets, and sounds are free. Premium actors or sets are fee-based. Any may be used to preview, but premium components must be paid for or switched to free versions prior to sharing.
Each element costs a certain amount of xpoints. Points may be purchased in bundles ranging from $5.00 for 300 points to $150.00 for 80000 points. Most additions cost 37xp to add.
Xtranormal will appeal to adults and teens who enjoy creating videos. This application opens a whole new window into animation for those who thought they wouldn’t be able to make anything.
